Soup Kitchen Ministry

First Baptist provides a Soup Kitchen once a week, every Friday, serving the homeless from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall. Volunteers prepare the food and also clean up after the serving. A devotion is shared each time there is a meal served, and clothing and other personal items are made available as a result of the generous donations of our Church family and friends.

We have a volunteer who serves as the Soup Kitchen Coordinator. This person works out the scheduling for the teams, assists with the procurement of food from the Food Bank and other sources, helps with the enlistment of volunteers, communicates with team captains to ensure that their needs are being met, coordinates with the facilities staff, and facilitates a host of other related activities.

Contact the Church office if you are interested in assisting with this ministry.
