Reaching People from Charlottesville

to the Ends of the Earth

Acts 1:8 records Jesus’ last spoken words on earth: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

At First Baptist Church, we have committed to fulfilling these words through intentional involvement in local, regional, national, and international missions, under the leadership and power of the Holy Spirit. Our “Jerusalem” consists of Charlottesville/Albemarle County and the surrounding area. Our “Judea” is the Commonwealth of Virginia. Our “Samaria” is the continent of North America, and the “Ends of the Earth” is everywhere outside of North America.

There are many opportunities for people of all ages to join us in responding to the Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” From Charlottesville to the Ends of the Earth, there is a place for you to serve!
