Music

	MUSIC MINISTRY is a vital part of First Baptist Church. Through a broad repertoire of songs from fine old hymns of faith to popular contemporary songs of praise, worshipers can join with like-minded believers to offer joyful praise to our Holy God, give thanks for the redemptive sacrifice of an awesome Savior, and seek inspiration from God's own Holy Spirit. There are various opportunities of musical service in which one may participate.

CHANCEL CHOIR helps to lead and enrich the 10:45 a.m. worship service. This choir is for ages high school and up. Choir members usually come on Wednesdays from 7:30 p.m. to about 8:45 p.m. for CHOIR REHEARSAL.

	CHILDREN'S CHOIRS are for children in grades 1-3 (Music Makers) and grades 4-6 (Young Musicians). These choirs provide music education for the children who present year-end and/or seasonal dramatic musicals. These choirs are active September through May.
PRESCHOOL CHOIR provides a choir for each age group (3-4-5 year olds). The choirs provide church music education, including development of music skills that help to prepare the children for a lifetime of musical enjoyment and service. These choirs are active September through May.

	THE FIRST BAPTIST ORCHESTRA meets weekly to prepare special music to enhance congregational worship and hymn singing for the 10:45 a.m. service. The Orchestra generally practices at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. There are two contemporary PRAISE TEAMS that help to lead worship music in the 8:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services. A contemporary PRAISE BAND also provides music for the 10:45 a.m. service. This band generally practices on Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m.
