Membership At FBC


To become a member at First Baptist Church, you first take the course, "Discovering First Baptist Church." You may also take the course to just learn more about our Church. This course is described as follows:


“DISCOVERING FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH:

INTRODUCTION TO CHURCH MEMBERSHIP”

 

This class is a basic introduction to our Church family. It is designed to clearly explain the life, vision, and mission of First Baptist, and to share with you how the leadership can assist in your spiritual growth, ministry, and life within the Church family.

Discovering First Baptist Church is presented in 75-minute sessions for three consecutive Sundays each month. Each session is primarily taught by our Senior Pastor, Dr. J. Lindsay Sadler, Jr. If you miss a session, you may make up the session the next month. Session #1 is usually on the first Sunday of each month, Session #2 the second Sunday of each month, and Session #3 the third Sunday of each month.
 
The class meets in Room 321, up the stairs that are across from the Welcome Center, and starts at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning and concludes by 10:30 a.m. Childcare is provided in the Children's Building.

After completion of the three sessions, you may come forward during any one of the worship services to be received by the congregation. You will either come by your statement of faith as a new believer, by transferring membership from another Church, or by baptism. FBC holds to believer's baptism by immersion for membership.
